The 2007 Advent Season at Central Christian Church: the Joyous Expectant Waiting and Preparation for the Celebration of the Nativity of Christ.

Advent is the beginning of the Western Christian year and commences on Advent Sunday; this year, on December 2, 2007. Advent is the four Sundays before Christmas and ends December 24th, Christmas Eve.

Advent is a holy season of the Christian church, the period of expectant waiting and preparation for the celebration of the Nativity of Christ. The word "Advent" is from the Latin "adventus" which is implicitly coupled with "redemptoris" and means "the coming of the Saviour."

The season of Advent serves a dual reminder of the original waiting that was done by the Hebrews for the birth of their Messiah as well as the waiting that Christians today endure as they await the second coming of Jesus the Christ.

The season of Christmas is a holy and joyous time of the year. Central Christian Church celebrates with special worship services and other Advent events in and around the church.
