Celestial Windows
The upper windows do not contain symbols but are designed to flood the space above the congregation with light to recall the glory of heaven, so they are called celestial windows. Their purpose is to lift our attention to God when we worship. The banners at the front also call our attention to God with their words “Hallelujah! Glory to God!” Hallelujah is Hebrew for praise the Lord. While we are refreshed and inspired when we worship, our focus is not on ourselves but first on God and then on the mission to people to which God calls us. So the most important question to ask about worship is not “What did I get out of if?” but “What did I give to God and people when I worshipped?”
