Faith Sharing Interview - February 2 - Mary Thompson Walker

Mary is known for “straight talk” about herself and her winding road faith journey.  “Honest, funny, sincere, loyal, big hearted” are how many of her friends, employees, and customers describe her.  Mary wears many hats in a given week. She is a mom to a 15 year old son James, life partner to Gene, owns and manages two businesses, active in community causes, and dedicated to her church and faith in Christ Jesus. She’s worked from Dallas to Manhattan and for people like Ross Perot and Norman Vincent Peale. She regularly takes her family on world travels, most recently, Egypt, Morocco, and Spain.

She now owns and operates with her husband, tax preparation and check cashing businesses in Dennison, TX. Her spiritual journey has included being born a Texas Baptist, investigating Hinduism, attending AA meetings for years, and finally settling in the Catholic Church. Faith and family are her first priority.

Mary was born in Dallas and Graduated from Texas Tech University with a degree in business.  She worked for the YMCA in Lubbock and Dallas for 10 years, then EDS for 10 years including NYC and also Guideposts for a year.  Mary will be interviewed about how her faith influences how she deals with people in her business, where tough choices happen almost daily.

The title of the Central Christian Church newsletter “Euangelion” may seem a bit odd. But actually it is the New Testament Greek word for “Good News” or “Gospel”.
