Rose Window
The rose window at the front of our sanctuary presents Jesus following his resurrection. As this window shines through the cross, it reminds us that Jesus’ ministry did not end with his death on the cross but that he rose again so we can share eternal life by trusting him. On one side of the risen Christ in the rose window above the chancel is a seashell, which is a symbol of baptism, and on the other side is a chalice (goblet) reminding us of the Lord’s Supper. The flowers and vines in the rose window are subtle symbols of the resurrection life. The risen Christ in the rose window is standing on the earth wearing a royal robe, signifying both that he is Lord of all of the earth and that the Gospel is for all of the people of the world. He extends his hands in a gesture of blessing and hospitable welcome.
