The Compassionate Jesus
My Jesus is the one you can see depicted in our sanctuary rose window, his arms open wide, extending welcome to all who will accept his invitation. He is the Divine Redeemer who says "come unto me you who are weary and are heavy laden and I will give you rest." And most especially, he is the Jesus of John 3:16: For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believes in him, shall not perish but have everlasting life." That's the good news, and that is the message of hope: that WHOEVER believes in him will be accepted, not just the beautiful people, or the wealthiest people, or any other special class or sect, but ANY person who professes a belief in him. God din't put limitations or exclusions of race, gender or sexuality on this gift. He gave us his only son, the Christ of open arms who accepts us who ever, where ever and when ever.

How Do You Know God? Psalm 139:1-12
Sitting, rising, thinking, moving, on good days and on bad days…………..your hands are there to guide me. I can almost grasp you and focus on you,…..but then you elude me. I almost have you, but the cloud of your mystery cloaks you. When I am moving, traveling, meditating, awake, manic, steady, or depressive, you are there!
I have sensed you this past week……….a hah!... in thick conversations,at a ball game, in the sounds of thunder, a funeral parlor, wedding plans, camp carousing, laughter, crying, tilling the soil, paying my bills, in the word………..and now in the flickering flame of this little candle on my desk. May the next forty days give me much more glimpses of you.

A Thank You Note to God 1Thess. 1:1-5, Phil. 4:4-7
I drew the frog on my thumb and index finger with the gap as the mouth and laughed. I will try to walk around with this today. If we really are to pray, and not be anxious about anything then there is some kind of faith in laughter, right?

The title of the Central Christian Church newsletter “Euangelion” may seem a bit odd. But actually it is the New Testament Greek word for “Good News” or “Gospel”. This reflects our philosophy of being a “Good News Community” as we experience Christ living through us. In the newsletter you can stay informed, for example about church happenings, prayer requests, and unique editorials from our pastors Norm and Todd.
The newsletter can be automatically sent through e-mail. The printed version is sent out twice a month intermittent with our e-news only version. Fill out the form below to begin receiving. Find out what you may have missed.
